U.S. Embassy Educational Exchange Programs Presentation || 20.3.2017

Mr. Gazmend Ilazi from the U.S. Embassy in Macedonia visited the American Corner Bitola and held a presentation about the Embassy's educational exchange opportunities. Mr. Ilazi talked more about the Fulbright program, Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, Study of the United States Institutes (SUSI), The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD), and Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellows Summer Institute that were all of interest for the University professors and students present at this presentation. Gazmend also described very well the application as well as the selection process for the Fulbright program and encouraged the students and the professors to apply and experience the innumerable benefits, the fresh perspective and valuable insights these educational exchange programs bring.

On August 8th the AC Bitola/American Educational Center Bitola organized a pre-departure orientation session for Marijana Miloshevska and Jana Gagacheva who are about to depart from Bitola and start their studies in the United States! The session was held by YES Alumni Marija Torkova and Ivana Gruevska. Numerous tips and a box of tools were given to Jana and Marijana to equip them for the outstanding experienc e that awaits for them in the U.S.

IEW SCHOOL VISITS As a part of International Education Week 2018, EducationUSA adviser Biljana K. Tasetovikj visited several Macedonian schools and colleges and spoke with more than 130 students about the opportunities of the U.S. higher education system. On November 13, she visited schools in south-west Macedonia, high schools "Niko Nestor" - Struga, "Yahya Kemal College" - Struga, Gymnasium "St. Kliment Ohridski" - Ohrid and the University of Information Science and Technology "St. Paul the Apostle" - Ohrid. The students had the chance to learn about opportunities to obtain undergraduate and graduate education in the USA as well as the benefits of becoming a member of the American Corner in Struga.
