EducationUSA Outreach

On November 30th 2015 the American Corner Bitola visited the local medical high school “D-r Jovan Kalauzi” for presentations about the reliable resources of the American Corner and also to share the new programs for this upcoming period.  One of the main information, shared with the first, second, third and fourth year students was the EducationUSA Competitive College Club. Ms. Biljana Kuzmanovska Tasetovikj, ACBitola Coordinator and EducationUSA Adviser talked with the students more about the Club, how they can apply and shared with the students the success stories of their peers. Ms. Ivana Angelkovska, AC Bitola Staff talked more about the current activities at the Corner and shared more information about the MakerSpace @ ACBitola program. The students showed great interest in the AC Bitola’s programs and activities and promised to visit the Corner very soon.

On November 20th 2015 as part of the 2015 International Education Week, the American Corner Bitola/American Educational Center Bitola welcomed the first year students from the local high school “Taki Daskalo" in Bitola. The students from the English class of Ms. Valentina Bogojoska had the opportunity to be introduced to the EducationUSA network with special note on the EducationUSA Competitive College Club Bitola. The presentation led by Ms. Biljana Kuzmanovska Tasetovikj, ACBitola Coordinator and Education USA Adviser, was with the purpose to give more information about the open application of CCC Bitola and how the American Corner Bitola and EducationUSA center can help high school students with applying to U.S. colleges and universities. After the presentation Q & A followed.

“International education through Exchange”

On November 19th 2015 as part of the 2015 International Education Week, the American Corner Bitola organized a presentation titled “International education through Exchange” through the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Program (YES Program). The presentation was led by Ms. Ivana Gruevska, high school senior and YES Alumna.  Sharing amazing facts about being an international student in the United States, Ms. Gruevska very vividly described her academic year in the U.S., discussing with the attendees the remarkable school events she attended, her new friends and host family. Ms. Grievska showed the attendees a completely new perspective of what it means to be an international high school student in the United States which for her meant a lot of volunteering activities, charity work and membership in different clubs, but also travelling to other States and getting to know America as much as possible.  Ms. Gruevska titled the year spent as YES Alumnae as “not one year in lif

“My Fulbright experience…and what comes after”

On November 18th 2015 as part of the 2015 International Education Week, the American Corner Bitola/American Educational Center Bitola organized a presentation titled “My Fulbright experience…and what comes after” with Ms. Mima Pejoska, Artist / Wearable Arts & Craft Specialist and Fulbright Alumna.  Ms. Pejoska talked more with the attendees on her study abroad at Savannah College of Art and Design through the Fulbright program. She shared her experience as one of the life changing adventures, first of all for meeting new peers and on the other side for learning so many new things in the field of contemporary art. Ms. Pejoska also talked about her ongoing projects and her future plans.

2015 International Education Week

On November 18th 2015 as part of the 2015 International Education Week, the American Corner Bitola marked the International Students Day by attending the online virtual college fair hosted by CollegeWeekLive. With free online registration the Fair offered the students to learn all about their dream university, to connect with admissions representatives and to follow various presentations about studying abroad.  Around 40 high school students from the two Gymnasiums in Bitola, visited the Corner and were part of this amazing opportunity. Along with the live chat session and free registrations the students followed the following presentations: “Discover Undergraduate U.S. Higher Education” by Mr. Ali Abbas Agha, EducationUSA and “Choosing a U.S. Institution” by Yasmine Elroweiny, EducationUSA Adviser in Cairo, Egypt. Open desk for Studying in the USA

On November 17th the Open desk for Studying in the USA stationed in front of the AC Bitola was part of the events and activities of the International Education Week 2015 organized at the American Corner Bitola/American Educational Center Bitola. The interested visitors were able to get more information about studying in the USA, programs, scholarship and how they can become part of the EdUSA Competitive College Club Bitola.
