SAT Preparation session - 03.31.2016

On March 31st the 2016 EducationUSA Competitive College Club Bitola (CCC) students had their second SAT preparation session together with the senior EducationUSA Competitive College Club Bitola member Andrej Korunovski.  Andrej prepared a short handout related to the Critical Reading section of the SAT test and gave the participants guidelines and tips how to study and which are the best strategies to study for SAT. The students found this session as truly useful and encouraging on their way to studying and getting good SAT scores.

EducationUSA Caravan in Resen

On March 31st 2016 the American Corner Bitola organized the EducationUSA Caravan in “Car Samoil” high school in Resen. The purpose of the caravan is to get the students familiar to the EducationUSA opportunities, more specifically with the Competitive College Club (CCC) in Bitola and the available resources at the American Corner Bitola.  EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of over 400 international student advising centers in more than 170 countries. The network promotes U.S. higher education to students around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, and current information about opportunities to study at accredited postsecondary institutions in the United States. More than 85 students from third year had the chance to learn more on the amazing resources of this platform and the opportunities that high school students from all over the world have through the CCC project. 2016 EducationUSA Competitive College Club Bitola Meeting

On March 24th the American Corner Bitola organized a regular meeting for the participants of the 2016 EducationUSA Competitive College Club Bitola. As usual, the session was led by the Senior EdUSA adviser Biljana, who talked with the students on volunteering opportunities and the importance of volunteering activities. Also she shared some useful websites for community involvement for youth.

Book Club - "The Diary of a Young Girl"

On March 22nd 2016 the American Corner Bitola, as part of the 2016 EducationUSA Competitive College Club Bitola, organized Book Club meeting led by Mr. Charles McKinney, local Peace Corps Volunteer. The book selected for this session was "Diary of a Yong Girl" by Anne Frank. During the event the participants talked more about the book plot, but also wrote an essay about the book. Charles gave numerous guidelines and notes how the participants can improve their essays and their writing style. The book club event is aimed to help the members of Competitive College Club to learn more about the American literature and also practice their reading and writing skills which is an extraordinary assistance for the process of their application to U.S. universities. The purpose of the caravan is to get the students familiar to the EducationUSA opportunities, more specifically with the Competitive College Club (CCC) in Bitola and the available resources at the American Corner Bitola.  EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of over 400 international student advising centers in more than 170 countries. SAT prep session - 03.12.2016

On March 12th the EdUSA Competitive College Club students met with senior CCC member Stefan Gjorevski for their SAT preparation session. Stefan started his presentation with a short introduction about the different sections of the test. Numerous tips about the test were shared and the CCC students were able to ask numerous questions about SAT and the importance of the test. The following SAT preparation sessions will continue to take place at the AC Bitola and will be guided by the senior EdUSA Competitive College Club participants.
