EducationUSA Competitive College Club (CCC) Macedonia

On Monday, July 22 nd , and  on July 24 th  the EducationUSA CCC Bitola students gathered for their July meetings.   The goal of this first meeting in July was to familiarize the students with the Common Application.  The students also had the chance to watch an hour long EdUSA Connects Session on the common app and discussed how to successfully use it for admission to U.S. colleges and universities. During this meeting, the students also shared their summer volunteering and camp experiences and ongoing projects and consulted with Biljana Kuzmanovska, the EdUSA adviser at the American Corner Bitola, about how far each of them is in their selecting the right colleges and universities to apply to.             On June 12 th ,and  June 19 th  Biljana  Kuzmanovska  along with the high school members of the CCC had two meetings on which they discussed the following subjects: Book Club, college search but mostly focused on volunteering. The highlight of the evening was the brainstorming idea about a  future project that would involve  the ethnic minorities of Macedonia. On the second meeting Erin Houlihan, a Peace Corps Volunteer from Prilep, visited the American Corner Bitola and   held a meeting with the members of the EducationUSA Competitive College Club. Erin had the opportunity to share her experience of the time she was a student and later an employee at many universities. During the discussion, Ms. Houlihan also shared some tips about the SATs, her college application and choosing majors. To find the best way to answer all of their questions through presentations.

After defining their priorities and identifying preferable fields of study, the CCC Bitola members worked hard during their 1st EdUSA CCC meeting in May to learn how to use online resources, search engines and American Corner advising books in order to effectively narrow down their college choices. The students attending this meeting were also advised to refer to college and university websites for detailed information about application procedures, admission policies and international financial aid opportunities.  "Your 5 Steps to U.S.Study" : https://www.educationusa.info/5_steps_to_study/ was not only a great starting point and an excellent tool for the purposes of this meeting but it is also the most comprehensive resource for everyone who is interested in continuing their education in the United States.
