"Study in the U.S." w/ Stephanie Larsen

On May 17th 2016 the American Corner Bitola organized a Coffee with a Diplomat event on the topic “Study in the U.S." with Ms. Stephanie Larsen, U.S. Embassy Macedonia.

Ms. Larsen shared her experience by answering students' questions such as: “Where are you interested in studying? What do you want out of a school—school size, sports and extra-curricular programs, location etc?. Stephanie also talked more about the opportunities EducationUSA network offers and pointed out to some valuable resources and organizations that can help international high school students enrich their volunteering experience when preparing to apply to U.S. universities. She was also interested to hear more about what students want to study and gave them great tips on how to prepare their college lists. Students on the other hand had many questions about Ms. Larsen's college experience and how she sees it from today's perspective.

Pre-departure orientation session for Jana & Marijana!

On August 8th the AC Bitola/American Educational Center Bitola organized a pre-departure orientation session for Marijana Miloshevska and Jana Gagacheva who are about to depart from Bitola and start their studies in the United States! The session was held by YES Alumni Marija Torkova and Ivana Gruevska. Numerous tips and a box of tools were given to Jana and Marijana to equip them for the outstanding experienc e that awaits for them in the U.S.

IEW SCHOOL VISITS As a part of International Education Week 2018, EducationUSA adviser Biljana K. Tasetovikj visited several Macedonian schools and colleges and spoke with more than 130 students about the opportunities of the U.S. higher education system. On November 13, she visited schools in south-west Macedonia, high schools "Niko Nestor" - Struga, "Yahya Kemal College" - Struga, Gymnasium "St. Kliment Ohridski" - Ohrid and the University of Information Science and Technology "St. Paul the Apostle" - Ohrid. The students had the chance to learn about opportunities to obtain undergraduate and graduate education in the USA as well as the benefits of becoming a member of the American Corner in Struga.
