“International education through Exchange”

On November 19th 2015 as part of the 2015 International Education Week, the American Corner Bitola organized a presentation titled “International education through Exchange” through the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Program (YES Program). The presentation was led by Ms. Ivana Gruevska, high school senior and YES Alumna.

Sharing amazing facts about being an international student in the United States, Ms. Gruevska very vividly described her academic year in the U.S., discussing with the attendees the remarkable school events she attended, her new friends and host family. Ms. Grievska showed the attendees a completely new perspective of what it means to be an international high school student in the United States which for her meant a lot of volunteering activities, charity work and membership in different clubs, but also travelling to other States and getting to know America as much as possible.

Ms. Gruevska titled the year spent as YES Alumnae as “not one year in life, but a life in one year” in order to emphasize how much she liked this experience and how much it profoundly changed and enriched her worldviews and life perspectives.
