Book Club - "The Hunger Games"

On September 9th 2015 the American Corner Bitola / American Educational Center Bitola organized another Book Club for the members of the EducationUSA Competitve College Club Bitola. The book chosen for the event was one of millennials most popular book - "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins. 

The discussion led by Mr. Ted Shibata, local Peace Corps Volunteer, was in a for of a guessing game/multiple chose answer game. 
With this type of activity the students were more engaged than ever! This was so fun for them having to go through simulations of the books plot and having to do different strategies.

IEW SCHOOL VISITS As a part of International Education Week 2018, EducationUSA adviser Biljana K. Tasetovikj visited several Macedonian schools and colleges and spoke with more than 130 students about the opportunities of the U.S. higher education system. On November 13, she visited schools in south-west Macedonia, high schools "Niko Nestor" - Struga, "Yahya Kemal College" - Struga, Gymnasium "St. Kliment Ohridski" - Ohrid and the University of Information Science and Technology "St. Paul the Apostle" - Ohrid. The Basics of U.S. Higher Education w/ Ms. Trishita Maula

On April 7th 2016 the American Corner Bitola organized a Coffee with a Diplomat event on the topic “The Basics of U.S. Higher Education" with Ms. Trishita Maula, Second Secretary in the United States Foreign Service. Ms. Maula has previously served in U.S. Embassy Dhaka and the Permanent Mission of the United States to the United Nations in Geneva. She holds a degree in Economics and Mathematics from Barnard College, Columbia University and is a native of New York City. Higher Education in the U.S. is based on a core liberal arts and sciences curriculum that features a broad of humanities courses - art, science, music, history, philosophy, literature- along with in-depth focus on one particular discipline.
