New Competitive College Club Bitola Skype Meeting

On March 12th 2015 the American Corner Bitola organized EducationUSA Competitive College Club Bitola Meeting via Skype with Ms. Marlene M. Nice, Public Diplomacy Desk Officer for South Central European Affair. 
Ms. Nice’s professional experience includes joining the State Department in 2005 as a Public Diplomacy Officer and working in U.S. embassies in Croatia, El Salvador and Austria. Prior to becoming an officer, she also worked in US Embassies in Turkey and Uruguay. In her previous career, she was a reporter, editor, and columnist for newspapers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In her current position, she is the public affairs liaison with US Embassies in the Balkans and the South Central European Affairs Office. 
Ms. Nice also shared and compared the different colleges and universities that her children went to, the advantages and the disadvantages of large public university in the U.S. versus small private colleges. At the end Q & A followed.

IEW SCHOOL VISITS As a part of International Education Week 2018, EducationUSA adviser Biljana K. Tasetovikj visited several Macedonian schools and colleges and spoke with more than 130 students about the opportunities of the U.S. higher education system. On November 13, she visited schools in south-west Macedonia, high schools "Niko Nestor" - Struga, "Yahya Kemal College" - Struga, Gymnasium "St. Kliment Ohridski" - Ohrid and the University of Information Science and Technology "St. Paul the Apostle" - Ohrid. The Basics of U.S. Higher Education w/ Ms. Trishita Maula

On April 7th 2016 the American Corner Bitola organized a Coffee with a Diplomat event on the topic “The Basics of U.S. Higher Education" with Ms. Trishita Maula, Second Secretary in the United States Foreign Service. Ms. Maula has previously served in U.S. Embassy Dhaka and the Permanent Mission of the United States to the United Nations in Geneva. She holds a degree in Economics and Mathematics from Barnard College, Columbia University and is a native of New York City. Higher Education in the U.S. is based on a core liberal arts and sciences curriculum that features a broad of humanities courses - art, science, music, history, philosophy, literature- along with in-depth focus on one particular discipline.
