On March 24th 2015, the members of the 2015 EducationUSA Competitive College Club Bitola met up at the Corner for Book Club. The Book chosen for this monthly meeting was "Into the Wild" by Jon Krakauer. The discussion was led by Peace Corps Volunteer Ted Shibata. 
Into the Wild addresses the issues of how to be accepted into society, and how finding oneself sometimes conflicts with being an active member in society.Most critics agree that the main character left to find some sort of enlightenment.He also tries to find his way in the wild with as little material possessions because "it made the journey more enjoyable". His extreme risk-taking was the hubris which eventually led to his downfall.
This book is great for discussion and sharing ideas, because it has deeper meaning in the text with the "revolutionize your life and move into an entirely new realm of experience".

IEW SCHOOL VISITS As a part of International Education Week 2018, EducationUSA adviser Biljana K. Tasetovikj visited several Macedonian schools and colleges and spoke with more than 130 students about the opportunities of the U.S. higher education system. On November 13, she visited schools in south-west Macedonia, high schools "Niko Nestor" - Struga, "Yahya Kemal College" - Struga, Gymnasium "St. Kliment Ohridski" - Ohrid and the University of Information Science and Technology "St. Paul the Apostle" - Ohrid. The Basics of U.S. Higher Education w/ Ms. Trishita Maula

On April 7th 2016 the American Corner Bitola organized a Coffee with a Diplomat event on the topic “The Basics of U.S. Higher Education" with Ms. Trishita Maula, Second Secretary in the United States Foreign Service. Ms. Maula has previously served in U.S. Embassy Dhaka and the Permanent Mission of the United States to the United Nations in Geneva. She holds a degree in Economics and Mathematics from Barnard College, Columbia University and is a native of New York City. Higher Education in the U.S. is based on a core liberal arts and sciences curriculum that features a broad of humanities courses - art, science, music, history, philosophy, literature- along with in-depth focus on one particular discipline.
